Meet the Directors of Life Education South Australia

Robbi Tims - ChairpersonRobbi shot

Robbi Tims’ career extends across both private and public areas, ranging from the Radio industry, TAFESA projects and Uni lecturing, plus business relations for corporate companies.

Her track record is impressive with achievements in corporate relations, media relations, event planning, community affairs, and marketing communications.

Robbi constitutes a strong desire to give back to communities via many active groups she is involved in. Robbi is a Director for the SA Community Football League, Committee member for Ladies of Variety SA and assists with the West End Community fund committee.

She has a reputation for producing the best work practices to get the job done with a minimum of fuss.

Robbi is married to Jeff and has a dedicated mate in Piper and step-son Sam. Her family are her passion with a throng of sisters, their partners and children.


Nigel Stevenson - Treasurer

Nigel is a Partner with Ernst & Young in Adelaide and has 20 years' experience providing financial advice and assurance to clients across many sectors. He has spent time working with Ernst & Young in Adelaide, Sydney and the United Kingdom. Nigel is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and sits on the South Australian Council of the Institute.

Nigel is a long standing supporter of many charities and not for profit entities and sits on the Boards of Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Leigh Warren Dance and Kathleen Lumley College (student residential college of the University of Adelaide).


Amy Matthews - Secretary

Amy began her legal career in 2003 at Minter Ellison, Melbourne, and then moved to Allens Arthur Robinson in Sydney working in the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions team. Amy returned to Adelaide and worked for Santos Limited as an in house lawyer from 2007 until 2016.

Amy is married to Johnathon, has three young children, Charlotte, Hugo and Eliza, and a beautiful Labrador called Molly.


Juliette Allen

Juliette is a public relations consultant with twenty years’ experience counselling clients in the private and public sectors, education, the environment, professions and Local and State Governments. She has strong credentials in strategy development, community engagement and issues management.

Juliette and her husband Ben have three young children and enjoy being actively involved in their many educational and sporting pursuits.

SA Louise

Louise Bawden - Interim Board Member

Three time Olympian Louise Bawden has represented Australia in volleyball and beach volleyball since 1998, and is currently engaged as a full time beach volleyball professional competing on the FIVB World Tour.

Louise holds a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) from Griffith University. Professionally, Louise has held positions for non-profit organisation, VicSport supporting state sporting associations through research projects and publications, and in public relations account management.

Louise has a keen interest in media, travel and wellness. She regularly engages in public speaking and coaching clinics, mentoring the next generation of athletes. Louise is passionate about sport and recreation, and is a strong believer in the positive impact an active lifestyle has on leading a happy, healthy and successful life.

Louise volunteers as an ambassador for various sporting and community events. In her down time she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and her dog.


Tom Beresford

Tom Beresford has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years, with the last 10 spent specifically working in the field of Cyber-Security. He recently relocated to Adelaide after spending 10 years living and working in Melbourne. He now runs the local office for Intel Security in South Australia and deals primarily with large business and government clients.

As a father of two young children, Tom was drawn to being involved with Life Education by the broad range of ages and educational topics covered, particularly on the topic of ensuring children make informed decisions when using the internet.

tony fTony Farrugia

Tony Farrugia has a lifetime of experience in sports and community involvement having held several high profile positions including Football Manager with Hawthorn Football Club, CEO of West Torrens Football Club, and General Manager of the South Australian Soccer Federation.

In 2006 Tony successfully established his own business – Eclipse Sports Management, which caters for grass roots sports and community groups specialising in sponsorship, event management, fundraising, administration and business planning.

He was instrumental in establishing and administering The Martyn Crook Foundation in honour of an old friend and work colleague.

Since taking on the role as Community Involvement Manager with People’s Choice Credit Union in 2006, their Community Lottery has returned over $1m each year to not-for-profit organisations in SA, NT, ACT and Victoria.

Tony is married to Donna, has a daughter, Kristin and three beautiful grandchildren.

david kDavid Kennewell

David Kennewell has worked in the Finance Industry for over 28 years. David began operating his own Mortgage Broking business almost 8 years ago. Offering his clients professional advice and personal one on one attention, his business continues to grow.

David has always been an active member of the football community coaching at a Junior Level at community clubs and has recently been appointed the Senior Coach of Flinders Park Football Club. David has also served in many different capacities on various Community Club committees.

David and his wife Louise have two boys who share his love of sport and David enjoys supporting them in all their pursuits which include cricket, tennis and football.


Mark Rohrlach

Mark has developed an in-depth knowledge of the Packaging, Automotive, FMCG and Pharmaceutical industries, particularly in the understanding of customer centric business practices over the last 20 years in Australian and International markets.

He has four children, Cooper, Jackson, Parker & Poppy, driving his passion for the work of Life Education. 


Emily Shaw - Interim Board Director

Emily Shaw is the Wellbeing and Education Consultant at Rose Park Psychology. She has over eleven years of teaching experience in a wide range of school settings from Morgan Primary School in the South Australian Riverland to St Andrew’s Catholic Primary School in London, United Kingdom. She has been a Years 3-5 Classroom Teacher at a variety of different schools around Adelaide: East Para Primary School (Para Hills), Pedare Christian College (Golden Grove), Seymour College (Glen Osmond) and St Andrew’s School (Walkerville). She was also the Middle Primary Coordinator and Teacher of Wellbeing at St Andrew’s School, Walkerville. Emily has both a Bachelor and Master in Education, a Bachelor of Psychological Science and is currently completing both her Honours in Psychology and Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling during 2017. She plans to become a Clinical Psychologist in the future. She is also a University lecturer who teaches Childhood and Adolescent Development to both undergraduate and postgraduate education students. Emily is approachable and caring, relating to her clients and children with both professionalism and respect. Her aim is to allow young people to reach their full potential, through offering support to children and guidance to their families and carers. She runs a range of Wellbeing and Education programs for children aged 5 to 15 years onsite at Rose Park Psychology, further details are available on our Group Programs page.
